Drupa 6 to drupal 7 upgradation

Friends,

My website is in drupal 6 and i want to upgrade it to drupal 7.

What are the steps and consideration must have in mind to upgrade to drupal 7?

Note: I am not a drupal developer or expert.
Can this upgrade done by me or only drupal expert alone?

for testing you can install fresh installation for Drupal 7. If running succesfull you can starting upgrade from drupal 6.
The main effort to upgrade is saving your 'sites' folder and all its content. Then ensure that all modules you are using provide in Drupal 7. Goods work.
