Taxonomy Metatags override Node Metatags

Hey this is possibly a silly question but was curious if it was possible to have metatags that are applied on taxonomy to override node metatags if a taxonomy terrm reference has been applied on the node using something like hierarchical select. Basically then taxonomy could help to drive some of the metatags that would be generated on the node.
