Is there any chances that the ad could be a YouTube video? Clicking on it would play the video instead of redirecting and when the video is playing clicking again would redirect.

Using Embedded Media Field with Media: YouTube should make the work easy.

Yes this is posible.

1. Install and enable oEmbed module or Vide filter.
2. Configure input format.
3. Create a new text ad and add URL/code to text field.
