We’re looking for someone to update an existing Drupal 6.26 environment to Drupal 7, on a fairly short time frame. Normally, we have a Drupal person in-house to do this, but he went skiing today and ended up in the hospital! Of all the bad luck…
So, we need the following:
• Simple update/migrate of our site (which is fairly simple) to Drupal 7
• Our current theme will need to be optimized for Drupal 7 as we expect some things will not display properly following the upgrade (using an alternative theme is not an option)
• We want to make sure any 3rd-party modules and some of the custom php code we have on the site (nothing too fancy) will also work after the update.
• We want to make sure the site is optimized after the update, and works/displays as it should on the major browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox, latest versions)
The work will be done on our test server. Once it’s completed and we verify that all functions are available, we’ll want you to copy over the updated version to the live server and make sure it works.
Here’s the catch: this work needs to be completed this weekend. We want to be up and running by start of business Monday, February 4th (that’s 8 AM Pacific Time). In total, we estimate 5-10 hours of work, but could be less for an experienced Drupal pro.
Fee is based on experience, but we work on a fee-scaling system. The faster you deliver, the more you’ll get paid per hour.

Wow. Migrating from drupal 6 to drupal 7, including converting to a Drupal 7 compatible theme, making sure custom-coded modules work with the new drupal 7 site, and testing for all browser compatibilities. Sounds like a lot for "5-10 hours of work"...

Yeah. I don't want to be the sole moderator here (I'd suggest three, if we could find them...), but if we had moderation and I were a moderator, this sort of thing would probably go into the "hold" queue, with a standard note to the author...

There are mods, but this isn't the kind of thing we moderate. It's not the quality of the post, but simply whether or not it's spam and in the right forum. It's not for us to decide whether or not someone wants to take on such a frighteningly worded job, lol.

I've worked with Drupal for about 6 years now, built dozens and dozens of sites for clients. I estimate this job as a 50-100 hours for the experienced. Probably more for less experienced.

So if it takes you 50 hours to do the job, you'll get paid 2$/h? Hard world... (just joking).
And I agree this seems hard in 10 hours, even for experienced developer.
