So I've run into a bit of a problem with some design on our site.

What we want to be able to do is showcase new videos out users add to the sites front page using, obviously, the promoted to front page option. This also makes the videos show up in out RSS feed which is pretty nice.

However, the problem comes with our side bar. I could move or remove it, but we all seem to think the best place for it is on the right hand side, especially since it's only there on the home page and nowhere else.

Here's a picture of the issue...

Does anyone know of a good way we could fix this? Maybe some kinda resize plugin for the videos or that center column on the home page? Maybe a way to not show the content on the home page itself, but just the title of the page with the video on it?

I haven't used Drupal in ages and I'm still in the process of refreshing myself on what's going on in 7.x.

.

... would this be similar to D6 - where you have to go have to configure the field settings?

We did this recently in D6 with Youtube fields .../admin/content/node-type/video/fields/field_youtube
("video") is the Content Type we used.

The problem with that is that

The problem with that is that not everyone uses YouTube, so it'd fall through the filter I think.

I'm full of scotch, bitterness and impure thoughts.

... otherwise - may be this can work - use Firebug or similar.
Identify the class / id of the video and set the width in the style.css file in your theme.
