That stuff is really outdated. I am not even sure if the links are correct. Some of them seem to be dead anyways.
Also, splatio helps me with maintaining 4.x and I am not sure if Jake should still/wants to be listed as a maintainer for 4.x anyways? Maybe add another section ("Project founder")? I am also not sure what we should do with the big ThemeGeeks logo. Seems a bit unfair to keep it as is considering the involvement of so many other parties by now? Optimally, I would want to get rid of any company/personal branding entirely and really just list the maintainers and other ppl who are involved with the project.

Actually... Let's just remove everything except for a section listing the 4.x maintainers and other contributors (documentation etc.) and then make the README.txt useful with some starting points for the documentation. The major part of the documentation should still live in the starterkit's README.txt files but I am sure we can should put a tutorial for how to create starterkits in there.
