Hi, I have a problem with CCK.
I want to create a database-style imdb.com.
I have created a content CCK with all fields (director, actors, script, etc.).
What we want, for example, is that when you have to fill the field "Director" what can be done in 2 ways: as a reference to a previously existing node created (with details of the director, for example), something that is easy, or so that when I fill in the fields automatically create the node (for example of a director in particular) so that if, for example, writing in the field "Director" "Francis Ford Coppola", I think a particular node of the director (later I can fill in with pertinent data) I do not know if I explain very well ...

The module "Mobiedb" does something similar, when you fill in the boxes of actors or directors it automatically creates a node for each of them, but this module (besides not updated for 8 months) does not have all the fields you want to add, what I meant to create hand with CCK.

The intention is to create a database of movies with multiple relationships.

Does anyone could help me? What I have to do to get something like that?
Does any idea of getting something similar? (Please)

Thanks!,
Barry Collins

I've been trying to find something like this for years! I started with Joomla but when I asked about building an IMDB-like module the discussion got taken over by people trying to LINK to IMDB!

But I look after a local theatre group and want to be able to let users search all of our performances, add flyers to each performance, list performers and crew and then be able to click on performers and crew to see what other shows they have worked on.

I'm still looking!

The London Theatre Database (http://www.ltdb.co.uk)is the closest I've seen and that's a Drupal site but the owner said he had to hack it together using lots of custom code and other bits and pieces. Looks like he uses moviedb and events somehow ...

Hello,
I'm the aforementioned owner of the London Theatre Database (http://www.ltdb.co.uk) and the whole process of creating this type of database is very hard. MovieDB was a good place to start, but now the code is filled with bugs, and it is difficult to add new fields to. At the moment I am trying to create a similar database purely through cck...
