Display digg icon on the front page also (not just on the node page)

I'd like to include digg-this icon into the node teaser so that digg counts would be immediately visible on the site front page (drupal.org does it for some special nodes). I realize that it might not be for every site, but having such an option would be quite useful for many.

I would like to see such a feature as well.
The module works perfectly within nodes by the way.

Added a diggthis block in CVS HEAD that can be displayed on the front page. Code needs to be tested.

Could this also be applied to the Drupal 5.x version?

I cannot add new features to the Drupal 5 branch of the diggthis module since I won’t be able to fully maintain it. If there is a developer who wants to backport the new features to the Drupal 5 version I am happy to welcome him/her on board.
