Greetings,
How to I add an image to accompany this text you are reading at this very moment?
When I click on the image icon in the toolbar above this text box, I see http://drupal.org/files/, but I have no idea where this /files/ dir is within my drupal.org profile.
Am I to upload pics to this http://drupal.org/files/ dir, then set the http:// path?
Seemingly unintuitive for this addled mind. :)

if the image was attached to an issue in the issue queue you could show it on a forum post. Issues have the ability to attach images directly to the issue. Forum posts do not. You can upload the image to a photo sharing site and link to it in a forum post.

Thanks for the response VM, though when I hover over the img you inserted (which I see as a red x) the tooltip reads 'img files must be hosted locally', so not sure if I can pull in an image from a photo sharing site. Ah looks like you've removed the img/red x now. :)
It would be nice if the Drupal.org Forums could specify how/when/if one can insert images. :)
So this is true...no way to upload an img directly into a Drupal Community Forum post?

I was making sure nothing changed which is why you saw a broken image error.
files uploaded into issues would be files hosted locally.
image from photo sharing sites do work, you wouldn't use the image button to display them with a forum post. You would paste the link to the image.
correct. You cannot upload images directly into a forum post on drupal.org because there is no upload image field as there are on issues.
