Hi, I've been using Drupal for like a month. I have this problem which it's driving me nuts. I've spent 3 hours in google trying to find a solution for my problem but nothing so far.
I have this site www.panguadalupe.org.mx with drupal 5.3, but sometimes I just can't access my site, ie7 says Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage and Firefox goes blank, ie6 says the page cannot be displayed.
It's a shared hosting but I'm sure it's not a server problem because i can ftp. I uploaded a phpinfo() file, check it out: www.panguadalupe.org.mx/phpinfo.php.
The last thing I did like 3 hours ago was editing a view. The latest module I've installed was Civicrm, i did a full db backup before and after I installed Civicrm.
Right now I just can't access my site, but this happened a lot while I was working on my site, but after 5 or 10 minutes my site was working perfect again.
What can I do? Is it some .htaccess problem?, because I didn't change a thing on it (I'm using the original .htaccess file in drupal install tar.gz.
Thanks a lot.

not a problem with the theme
After I posted I ran a test on localhost using the same theme to see if the problem was caused by my theme. Result: the theme works great on my localhost site but my live site it's still down for some reason.

Solved
Here's what I did...
Backup my database using mysql administrator
Created a new database "site2"
Deleted the settings.php file and replaced with a new one.
Install drupal.
Now you have a new site with nothing on it.
Go to admin-modules and enable all the modules you really need.
Here's the important part:
1. Don't bother if you did not backup the database "site2", it's empty anyway.
2. Using restore in mysql administrator select the your backup file and change the target schema you want, in this case site2
now go to analyze backup file content and select groups of tables, start by the most common and drupal default, like all nodes tables, system, terms, taxonomy, views, cck and so on... don't backup the tables of modules you think it crashed your site.
3. Go to your site and see if your old content is there. is it? no.. did you have clean urls enabled? if you did go and enable it...
4. if any errors like "table missing" go and restore them.
5. continue until you restore all your content or you identify the source of the problem, this process will take you no more than 15 minutes.
I only had one problem with the youtube cck module.. i just had to disable it and re-enabled it.
Seems my problem was the mysite module or the panels module. I'll find out latter.
thats it.. hope this can help others...
