I shouldn't have ever had them on the same site, but I was trying to decide how heavy I wanted to go - gallery 2 ended up being great, compliments to everyone! However, hours of frustration led me to discover that /gallery was being used by both modules - and broke the nav blocks and a few other misc. things.

The gallery module is using the '/gallery' path for almost 3 years and I was not even aware of the gallerix module now taking the same path. However there is a feature request for an option to change the gallery base path to something else and an instruction to patch the module manually in http://drupal.org/node/165155. The feature will not be included in the 5.x releases of gallery module, but we will have it for Drupal 6.

Hey Guys,

I'm the author of Gallerix, and I didn't mean to cause problems by taking up the "gallery" path. I used it because I figured some users wouldn't want their link to read "gallerix" because it sounds like a product, and not a destination per se. I might change it to "photos" in the new release, so that we don't have this issue anymore. If I don't end up changing it, I will at least detect if the gallery module is installed, and avoid taking up the same path.

PS. I've used the gallery module before, and it worked very well. Thanks for working on that much needed module. The only reason I created Gallerix was because gallery2 was too powerful for my needs.

I just played with Gallerix on your homepage ... looks pretty neat :) Great work! You shouldnt worry too much about taking the gallery/ path. Very few people will install Gallerix and Gallery2 at the same time, so this is almost a non-issue IMO. The Drupal 6 version of gallery module will also allow people to change the base path where Gallery2 is embedded ...
