Hi,

I'd like to volunteer to be a co-maintainer for memcache.

I've been a Drupal module developer for 5 years, but have only recently had the opportunity to start contributing back to the community.

My employer is willing to sponsor my time maintaining the module so I'd be able to dedicate about 1 day a week to the project.

Kind regards,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks -- the first step is to put some effort into reviewing patches in the queue, once done marking them as reviewed & tested. Once you've demonstrated your commitment and talents, then we can discuss you joining the project as a cot-maintainer.

Thanks!
-Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions- will do!

I'd like to focus on D7 issues for now, but are there any particular areas that need attention?

Kind regards,

Mark

I'm glad that I checked to see how active the queue is, I have the perfect starting issue for you!
Note: I'm nothing to do with memcache, except that I love it! :)

The issue is part of the memcache_admin module reporting page, so very likely to be non critical. It exists in both 6 and 7 versions and basically boils down to not seeing the default bin on the stats page (/admin/reports/memcache).. I've offered two ways to fix it, but I can think of a third, better way - however could do with a second opinion / thoughts.

Unfortunately, I raised the original issue ages ago with an emphasis on a bad hit rate, although the actual 'fixable' issue is that I couldn't see the default stats:

This project has become largely stagnant. Reserving judgment on specific people, a co-maintainer is very welcome here. I agree with Jeremy, that I'd like to see some more "active" issues dealt with and some RTBC that would signal this project is ready to take another step forward.

I'd like to reaffirm my commitment to this module and to helping out as a co-maintainer where needed.

In the short-term I'm keen to help get the next 7.x version released, with a focus on getting session management stable- it's been a long time coming!

Long term, I'm willing to put a lot of effort into a D8 port.

Almost two years since the 7.x-1.0 release ... time to accept some help.

There seems to be good progress on the 8.x branch which is good to see!

I'm happy to help with 6.x and 7.x maintenance if needed.

Closing this one out, since we have another such issue at #2856031: Offering to co-maintain the 8.x branch which has been marked RTBC.
