create separate permissions for Map, & add Lat & Lon?

I want users to be able to add the node's location, without having to see Lat & Lon fields.

I know I can turn off permissions to enter Lat & Lon info, (see http://drupal.org/node/59081)
but the problem is that this also removes the map, which is very useful for users to visually fine tune their location on the map.

There is also a very useful feature called "Map Location," (see http://drupal.org/node/165040)
which unfortunately also disappears when Lat & Lon permissions are removed.

Is it possible to create separate permissions for Map, & add Lat & Lon?
Ideally, "Map Location" would still show up above map. (seems more appropriate than to be grouped with Lat & Lon perms - don't you think?)
