Just looking for advice in case anyone has a suggested approach.
I've created a special comment field, and want to use the (binary) value in this field to split comments into two groups / sections. I'd rather not use views if there is a more lightweight approach.
Any ideas or advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You could create your own module or create a custom template file for the comments, although one might argue these options are far from "lightweight".
