How to start a social networking site?

I want to start a social networking site. Is Drupal is the best for it or should I go for other options.

First you need to define how many feature you want to include in your application. Social networking, e-learning and e-commarce are huge area they are self applications.

if really this is your requirement then I will say this all 3 possible in drupal.

Drupal has many contributed modules available to provide plu-and-play functionality for many social features. Perhaps the best place to start would be to make a list of your required functionality, and do some research on modules that may be able to get you there.
