Hello

I have the Views Module and the Views style plugin called views Slideshow that is supposed to enable you to output your view in a jquery slideshow.

I'm trying but not really sure.. Does anybody actually have one set up that they've made using these modules?

Here's my link so far: http://www.jbmjk.com/jens-gallery

I've actually got 6 images that I'd like to have in a gallery all named 'img_xxxx' where xxxx is the image number , so I have the filter criteria for the view set to file: name contains IMG_ - So I would expect it to include al 6 files. It only seems to be displaying the one at the moment and even though the format of the view is set to slideshow... It's not much of a slideshow at the moment.

Do I have to script something myself for this.

Can anybody point me to a help resource for this module or something. I don't know what else I have to set, code etc to get it going. It feels like I've come a long way with trying to get a gallery set-up, and feels like I'm quite close.. just looking for a bit of support on this module if I can please.

Thanks
jay

I've created mine using the Nivo Slider.

Here's a tutorial if you would like to try it

Thankyou very much Dollowmite. It's a good tutorial. I tried it once last week keeping my original image size, 955px x 600px as that's ideally what I'd like as my display. I followed the tutorial completely , except when I got to the stage in the tutorial where the tutor sees his images in the preview and they slide between each other. I do not. I get the preview of my 2 images one above the other. They do not slide. I carried on the tutuorial to the end, hoping that at some point before the end my images would begin to slide but they didn't and I didn't manage to find what would fix it.. So many options.

So I decided today to delete everything and start again the tutorial, this time creating the image style like the tutor did and using that. That did not make a difference. Of course the image size was different but it still didn't slide.

Please can anybody help me to get it to slide like it should?

Did you download the Nivo Slider jQuery plugin and extract it to sites/all/libraries or sites/sitename/libraries
I had that problem when I first installed it.

Hello

No I hadn't done that. But Now I have, and I deleted everything - started the tutorial from scratch with plugin 2.7x installed in sites/all/libraries folder, and it still doesn't work.

Now my installation is saying that I need to update my Drupal Core
and update Libraries API to version 7.x-2.1- so I will probably do that next and try it again - but I doubt it will make any difference. What do you think?

Thanks
J

Could you either take a snapshot of your views settings or supply them? Format and Show setting.

Hi Dollowmite

I'd love to , but right now my database became corrupt when trying to update version of Drupal and I became locked out of my site , because my computer logged me out of my site while it was in maintenance mode. I've tried lots, I've restored from a backup db dump but I still have an internal server error 500 from my hosts and my hosts will not/can not help me further.

I'll have to solve this problem first.

If I manage to access my site again, I will surely supply you my settings somehow , so that you can try to help me further. I would love to have a gallery on my Drupal website :-)

Dear Dollowmite.

I am back.

Below is a copy of the section you asked for. My view and then format show settings:

"Block: Row style options

For All displaysThis block (override)
.

Provide default field wrapper elements (IS TICKED)
If not checked, fields that are not configured to customize their HTML elements will get no wrappers at all for their field, label and field + label wrappers. You can use this to quickly reduce the amount of markup the view provides by default, at the cost of making it more difficult to apply CSS.

Inline fields

Content: Nivo Slider Image

Inline fields will be displayed next to each other rather than one after another. Note that some fields will ignore this if they are block elements, particularly body fields and other formatted HTML.

Separator
The separator may be placed between inline fields to keep them from squishing up next to each other. You can use HTML in this field.

Hide empty fields
Do not display fields, labels or markup for fields that are empty."

Does this help you to help me?

Hello

I've created a blank page with the only block to display on that page my 'Views Nivo Slider' view / block. :

http://www.jbmjk.com/node/34

As you can see my two nivo slider pieces of content / images are stacking on top of each other , rather than sliding. Can anybody advise me why that may be.

I've followed the tutorial posted in this thread precisely and I downloaded the jquery plugin and extracted it to my libraries folder as also suggested in this thread. It's still stacking instead of sliding. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
