Applied fine, checked a few admin pages, enabled book.module and did stuff in both that and menu.module. Everything works as normal.

I'm going to postpone this. For now, we're only splitting modules, not include files. Too much splitting make it hard to navigate around.

postponed might be "I am puttign this aside until patch X gets in". We can easily delegate patches to 7.x and I am fine with that.
