Scenario:

  • Enable normal youtube media functionality
  • Disable the "image preview" displays for the default view mode in the file display settings under file types (please dont ask why) :)
  • insert youtube clip via wysiwyg and choose default view mode
  • notice that the media module inserted a span instead of the usual [[ ]] tokenized markdown and displays a filename instead of a preview
  • actual rendered view once the content is saved displays the "generic file" display instead of the correct view mode of "youtube video" enev though the span said to use the default and that default is "youtube video"

I understand that there is work going on in the "preview display mode" and that may trump this bug so ignore it if so. I just wanted to help out any lost souls so they dont spend 3 hours trying to figure out that they just needed to enable a checkbox for "youtube preview image".
