I just started getting this error after trying to modify the common.inc file to add some js files. I have tried replacing the file and it works for 3 page loads then the error shows back up. Please help!

After trying to replace all the drupal files I am getting this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function db_set_active() in /var/www/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 847

I did set my mysql line in settings.php
