I have not extensively tested my solution, but I can now both create and edit repeating events that are 'monthly' and 'every 2nd Wednesday' (for example). I added comments (look for my username) in several areas to show what I was thinking. A better solution would be to make sure that the existing function that is supposed to handle day-shifting gets the right values passed to it, rather than the hack I did. But I figure that this branch will shortly die anyway, so maybe it doesn't matter and we all just want it to work.
So if anyone out there could test this after reading the comments I made in the code and let us all know what you find, that would be great. Hopefully, I did things right.

WeRockYourWeb.com commentedI'm using 5.x-1.x-dev (2008-Mar-03), and when I create a repeat event for "every 3rd Wednesday" - it shows up on the first Wednesday and then proceeds to repeat on Tuesdays. I've also selected a range of specific months for this to occur on.
