Views Filter Category Limitation?

I have something like this:

I have the user points module installed. If I add the field "userpoints: category" it will show the category on each row saying either "general" or "attendance" (my two userpoints categories). This field is not part of a content type so I cannot find it in the display settings. What I want is to be able to filter by category = attendance but only have it filter the field belonging to one content type (so it does not filter out other content types with the "attendance" tag).

I think the ultimate solution would be an ability to set an exposed filter to only filter field "x" of content type "x".

Does that make any sense?
