Issue Summary

Ok I installed the 5.x.1 ver and like it very much except some users were complaining about loosing everything on a refresh and that it was a bit slow in responsiveness. What bugs and issues were fixed that had nothing to do with the server change to Ruby. I ask this because in the real world using a Ruby server offered by my host provider forces me to have to go from $3.00 per month up to $150 per month because now I will need a dedicated server to do this they said. I like the level of support I am receiving from my host provider so I am not interested in changing to someone else. My question is could the same bug fixes have been done without the server changes and if so, is there any plans to do so in the future? and if they could have been fixed without this server change why the big jump to another server. Performance verses cost is very important in making these kind of design decisions. This in my opinion was a very radical change to fix issues unless they could not have been fixed using the current platform / server design. I am not a programmer but this radical change means real world impracticality just to have a chat system. I'll be looking into others again because of this change. Not sure if this was the right area to post what will probably appear to be a wine session, but this really appears to be the tail waging the dog design.
