Wildcard search

Hi all

I am using a view with a contextual filter to display search results.
Now i was wondering if there is an easy way to add default wildcard to the search.

Because the search looks for answers in a very technical chemical forum it would be easy that users did not have to type in whole words but just pieces of words to get the good results.

Just adding %myword% to the url isn't working.

I have been googling a lot but haven't found any solution.

Can any of you help me?

I am using the custom search module to pass the url parameter to the view page...
