Adding Node linked to each user with

I'm trying to create business cards/node for each user upon registration.

1) Way is to give user the ability to create only one card using a module that limits creation of nodes.

2) Create Card Node upon creation of user account using rules.

Question is which is better and what link should I put in the user menu so they can edit their nodes? Or how should build the url.
