The current one says 'Should be an integer field, with allowed values, 0 for closed and 1 for open.' This is a technical description that means nothing when you want to start with your project.

I presume this technical help is great there also the description of what that field can do for you would be great.

Actually this description can mean two things:
1. if user still can signup or its closed now. or
2. this is a closed or open event for certain groups. what groups?

I've also found that the status field doesn't update when capacity is filled. This is confusing for editors!
