I just noticed that the signature appears on the front page when an article is promoted.
It even appears when just the teaser text is showing, it looks kinda weird.

Sounds like a bug to me. :)

I've committed a quick fix (forgot to even make a patch, oops!), a new version is available in the DRUPAL-5 branch. If you're not familiar with CVS wait until a new package is available on the front page. Let me know if it's fixed for you.

Have you tried the new version? It's available on the project page now. Give it a try, it seems to work for me but I don't want to mark the bug fixed as there may be some scenario I've missed.
