files and private location for multi-site

I've a multi-site environment with Drupal 5.3. For that reasons my /files and /private directory should be located under my /sites/example.com/ directory
but the module seeks for them in root directory, giving me an error about they don't exist...

not properly a bug, since it could be handled manually. but would be nice to have it automatically set :)
