I just installed a google sitemap on my site and was confused with the followings:

1. what should be used in the google & yahoo verify link text box? can a node url (for ex, http://mysite.org/about-us) be used in these text boxes?

2. there is an authentication key text box on the yahoo section, what should be used in this box?

" In order to show statistics, Google/Yahoo will ask you to verify that you control this site by creating a file with a certain name. Enter that name here and the Google Sitemap module will create a path to that file name. Note that this will only work if you have clean URLs enabled." this sentence was a big confused to me.

I am about ready to install the sitemap (now XMLsitemap, I think) module so I don't have any hands on with the specific configuration... and I haven't worked with the Yahoo site map yet.

regarding google: you can signup for webmaster tools here http://www.google.com/webmasters/start/

Once your account is setup for a domain you can go to the dashboard>>tools>>manage site verification

I think you can take it from there.

thank you for the head up... I was able to complete both google and yahoo verification w/o any problem...

yahoo:
1. use a yahoo email account to logon
2. go to https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com and verify your site

once again, thank you for your help.
