I thought this was do to the patch applied for l10n_client, but now with an unmodified Drupal core and locale enabled (and virtually nothing else) and the site seems to go through a massive page recacheing every time a page is viewed.

Any advice? It's taken me a while to track the problem to here, help on the last mile would be greatly appreciated.
