Would love to know what ya'all think of this new site just started
It is a slightly modified version of a theme for drupal. Need to adjust credit for the theme etc on the site etc.

Nice and simple with the focus on content...not a million miles away from the friendselectric layout & colour scheme....so credit where credits due etc.
If you're looking to make it more distinctive and move away from the bluey friends electric look check out this link here...very useful colour switcher and reference...

Not that the friends electric theme is bad...it's one of the best out-of-the-box layouts available for drupal...there's just a danger that every site will end up looking the same..with the same colours..etc.

Your over all design is very well done. UI is clean and simplistic. Anchored links are easy to notice. I love the primary navigation and the use of the round box on hover!
Issues?
You are pulling to many images from gizmodo.com causes a bit of slow down. Host the images locally, as no one likes a leech.
I also suggest Clean URLs, and go ahead and use path auto for a constant hierarchy

Thanks for the comments so far.
As for the running the images from other servers, we will host them locally, at the moment we are trying to get the ImageManager part of htmlarea to use dynamic folders for each user instead of one global folder. Until then we are not so worried. plus we dont want to take stuff from other servers at all so this will change soon.
The clean URLS system seemed to have bugs in the default install. I have since written a new set of rewrite rules into the htaccess and they seem to work fine and are giving clean urls.
As for the design, it is based upon the friends electric theme however i modified a number of the graphics, font sizes, and colours in order to make it more lightweight and match the general "blue" colour without that horrid background ;)
We will be creating a unique custom theme in the near future once all the functionality has been inserted.
Our main objectives now are the image management for users to work correctly and for the shop side of things to be completed.
