As per #1913956 this project needs a new maintainer. Creating this new issue to draw attention of the community.
This is extremely useful project and many sites are using it. But currently it unmaintained and has many bugs left. We don't have alternative projects currently for antispam services. Recently this module stopped working with the Defension service for me, probably due to API change. But I'm not a coder so I am unable to fix these issues myself.
If you are able to take ownership of this project or at least provide some help with fixing current issues, please respond.

I just wanted to also voice my support of the importance of this module. To many, Akismet has been found to be a much better alternative to Mollom and have found this module to be immensely useful.
