gmap error while loading cck_slideshow content in IE

I just encountered an IE specific error while having the modules cck_slideshow and gmap running on drupal 5.3.
it seems that the gmap module refuses loading the markers in IE due to the function call "jquery_interface_add();" in line 303 of cck_slideshow.module.

did anyone encounter the same error before? does anyone know how to fix this issue?
