Hi everyone...
Let's get straight to the point. We all have different ways of structuring sites we build. Yea... It works. But is it the most efficient way? Have you ever wondered how the "other guys" are structuring their sites? By structuring, I mean how a person enters data and all the in betweens before Drupal outputs. (i.e. do you layout the entire site in taxonomy? do you have node-types that lead to other pages and node-types that are static/have images/hold signatures/etc...?)
Do you always use a combination of modules? And most importantly, how do you implement views?
Yes, our methods vary significantly depending on the sites needs. For example, you may have to design the architecture for a news site... an ecommerce site... or even a company presence.
My proposal is simple. Let's create a book or some sort of resource that outlines IN DETAIL methods used to organize content within Drupal for each of these types of sites.
Drupal is basically NATIVE for news and blogging sites... We have the ecommerce and Ubercart modules for ecommerce sites.... But what is the best way to set up a Corporate Site that has multiple "static pages" (i.e. About, Products, Solutions, Contact) and has many subpages (hierarchially).
I will submit this discussion now but I will reply with my own technique soon.
