I know this is a bit complicated and am really looking forward for the other pending features to come first (custom time periods and notification options). It would also be really neat if the user who has payed a fee and is in a certain special role to be automatically kicked out of that role and placed in another role. It would turn into a great membership system like this.

I'm very interested in this feature, too.
Disabling a user or moving it to a different group at the end of his paying period would be very useful.

I found an account_expiry module that seem to do something like what you ask. I'd like to extend it to work also with roles: if a user has a "super" role admin can set to that user that his/her "super" role will expire in an amount of days..
If you have a better solution/suggestion let me know! :)
