Installing slideshow theme for built in (non custom) theme

Hello,

I'm trying to follow the theme installation procedure as this tutorial describes:

Where should I copy the "custom" directory, if I'm using a built in theme (commerse kikstarter).

I have tried to copy it into the following pathes:
.../profiles/commerce_kickstart/themes/commerce_kickstart_theme/
.../sites/all/themes/[whatever dir name]/

I have cleared cashe, but no themes appear in the block configuration.
(Slideshow theme layout combo box is there, but empty.)
