Is this the right place for UI suggestions for views 2?

I always find that I have to add "Node: Published" as a filter, after the embarrassing unpublished nodes have spilled out. It seems like most of the time, you would want node: published to be True upon creating a new View.

This is one of those UI design vs. programmer things. I'd suspect programmers would say "those are just two cases of equal probability" but the average user might say "Ah yes I always do that."

As a bonus, it helps the newcomer understand what a filter is, while setting a case they will probably need. And it should be visible right away, not hidden at all.

Thanks for the great work everyone!

This has been suggested before, but I've rejected this primarily because I prefer not to set the expectation that Views is doing things for you. Once that expectation is set, I'm afraid that people will assume all views come with a reasonable set of defaults and they don't. There is no view wizard to help you set up the things you want, and I'd much rather have a proper Views wizard, which maybe someday people will write. So far nobody has ever stepped up to do that, though.

fair enough. However is this the correct place to suggest UI features for Views 2? And more broadly where is the UI for Views supposed to begin and end?
