I would like the ability to allow the user to customize the name of the subdomain that gets created on the user registration form. Currently, the username is forced as the subdomain.

I am attempting to use Domain Access on a new project and testing the suite of modules in its family. Domain User seems like it is not getting much love but I really wanted the ability to create new subdomains during user registration. Seems like a fair amount of work has been done on the port so I am working with it during my prototyping phase to see if I can meet my objectives. I will add patches as I work with the module to meet my needs.

First modification I have made is to allow the user to customize the name of the subdomain during user registration instead of the username being forced as the subdomain. The patch adds a new option on the config form and if selected, adds a new textfield to the user registration form.

Right. In 5 years, I have never used this module in production, so it needs a new maintainer.
