Under a specific set of circumstances the "Convert video on save" field setting will not cause the video to be converted on save. Here are the specifics of the case:
If you have this setup, the video will not be converted on save.
Here is a patch that fixes this issue.

Jorrit commentedHave you tried 7.x-2.x-dev? I think this was fixed as part of #1917242: Previously converted video is lost after updating node with "Bypass auto conversion".

dysonk commentedYou can reference to some guides about convtering video ,such as convetering avi video to mp4, it`s easy to understand and works pretty well for me. And the conversion quality is nice.
