Hello everyone,
I've just found drupal and think its a very very nice cms for the kind of homepage i want to make.
But i have one question. There is one thing i don't know how to do. Perhaps i'm just blind or stupid, but i hope you can help me:
For my homepage i need different subsites. But it should still be ONE homepage, so i cant use the multiple site manager.
Imagine the a company has a homepage, and wants to present their three branches, what the offer. There should be some pages describing the company, and then three areas for the branches. And eachs area has a different menu, perhaps a different layout. And it would be nice if the areas could be entered by three links in the header.
Well, I have no company, but the kind of site i want to make looks like that. And I'm looking for a good way to realize these subpages.
I hope you can help me, and thanks for all answers,
llkks

could you be clearer still?

what do you mean by this? do you need different subdomains or three different page layouts? How do you want your homepage? Do you want to display three different blocks, each describing one of the sub site, in the home page, instead of the default layout by drupal which displays the nodes published to frontpage.

The homepage shall represent a club, that has three different groups. Thus, I need 4 areas:
One presenting information about the club, and one for each group.
Each of these areas are very complex, like a seperate homepage. But they must not be really seperated (like using "MultiSite Manager"), because they belong together, are administrated together and have one domain together (some subdomains leading directly to the subpages dont aren't of interest here i think).

I hope it got a little clearer and you now understand my problem ;-)

from wat i could understand from your description, you need the home page to be divided into four different regions. You may use four different bocks or better use panels module to achieve this.

i think you mean something like this - main site - http://kappatalk.com/

subsites, http://www.kappatalk.com/omicron/ - http://www.kappatalk.com/pi/ - http://www.kappatalk.com/alphagamma - http://www.kappatalk.com/mu/

sadly, i've not found anything you like you are looking for and just stalled drupal site in subfolders

well, i guess you understood me rightly, but i didn't find how your pages belong together.
Okay, after there seems to be no fitting module, i must go the hard way: greating many pages and defining which menu shall be displayed on which sides. i hope i'll get along with it, but i would still be glad to get some hints how to make it easier.
Thanksalot,

maybe you could upload a pic demonstrating the layout you wish for and give a link here. That'd be easier to give suggestions.

I'm not talking about a layout, i'm talking about a site-structure, like those in a sitemap. Thats what I call subsite, and different branches.
