It would be terrifically helpful to me if when I clicked to subscribe to a post I had a bit more control over the notification that I receive.

Currently the way it seems to work is that I get notification of a post, together with links to go to the new post.

Often I'd prefer to automatically receive the post itself, and wonder if there could be an option for doing so.

Perhaps if I share my situation, you'll understand this need a bit more clearly. I teach classes where students are encouraged to post essays and comments. I need to reply and respond privately in an efficient way. With 70 students at a time, making 3-5 posts per week, that's a heck of a lot of grading. I could do that with the web interface, but it would be far easier if I could get an emailed copy of the forum post which I could sort by title, forum thread, etc. I can parse the email to a local database (filemaker pro), comment and grade, and issue email from the local database. It seems to me that would be a lot more fool-proof way of making sure that I respond to each post from a variety of areas across many forums.

Perhaps also a 'no notification' option? Looking for a way so users may bookmark a node and this module is pretty close.

Version: 4.5.x-1.x-dev » 6.x-1.x-dev

This feature request still makes sense in the new 5.x-2 version.

The administrator can set up templates that send full bodies and full comments in 2.0, but I don't think we can make that configurable by the end user.

We're pretty much at the limit of what we can offer as far as end user control is concerned, IMO.
