Hi,

My first Drupal-based site is up: WildlifeWatch http://www.wildlifewatch.in/

i) The site extensively uses Views and Contemplate.
ii) There are seven content types as of now.
iii) There are two section/landing pages inside: http://www.wildlifewatch.in/news-india/ and http://www.wildlifewatch.in/news-world/ The others will be customised only as when they get populated and we have more content to play around with.
iv) There are some 70 or 80 different TPL files. Mainly used with Views for Blocks.

I don't find too many constraints with Drupal. The only one that gets my goat are theming of Views and the CSS styles that are embedded in the core files.

You can call this a Beta launch. There's obviously a lot more that one can do when content flow is heavier.

Would appreciate comments.

Excellent implementation! What are you using to create the teaser thumbnails?

I noticed your main site http://www.newswatch.in is a Wordpress site. Any thoughts as to pros/cons?

Ashok:

i) Teaser thumbnails are generated by Node Images module.

ii) I think there are no limits to what one can do with Drupal on the face of it. The clinchers for me are
a) Unlimited content types
b) Unlimited roles and therefore access possibilities
c) Robust taxonomical structure.
d) Unbeatable as far as path aliases are concerned.

The only advantages that Wordpress offers over Drupal as of now are in fact Drupal's few weaknesses:
i) The problem of CSS. Even if one avoids core changes for the necessary look-feel we want, one still has to be thorough with the core and the Drupal API.
ii) Styling with views still has a problem. I think Views 2.0 is being developed with this in mind. Once that happens, we will get more flexibility as far as displays are concerned.

It was Bluebreeze. I thought it had the cleanest output, and allowed for max flexibility.
