”Output this field as a link“ under “No results behaviour”

Outputting links in the token rewrite results section often results in paths not being correctly escaped/output and a generally more clunky behaviour, as – due to security reasons – there are less possibilities to rewrite links.
Glady, Views 3 „output this field as a link“ option has evolved nicely and is a much better way to go.

For many outputs, the „no results behaviour“ is the easiest and most understandable way to output different content depending on a field being used or not.

Sadly, In this case, using links in the token section becomes as impractical as always, because there just is no way to output the replacement field as a link, though in practice, one would have many usecases for it.

I didn't find a similar request, so:

1. is it technically possible to add this option?
2. does one know of an existing solution to do this even now via UI?
3. if not, is there a way to (preferably) add this behaviour with an external module?

P.S.: I know that using field templates is a possibility, but as I meet this demand very often, I deem a more practical solution using tokens (and allowing for better rewrites) much more intuitive + time-saving.
