I have attached a working module to integrate Virtual Merchant with Drupal Commerce. This should probably be started as a new module, but I have not done that before and don't have the time right now to get that setup. So I figured I would post what I have here in hopes that it will help someone. If you use this module, please contribute back with any improvements. I know that there are still a few minor bugs that could be worked out, but it works!

laughnanGreat work @deggertsen, I agree that this module should either 1) encompass commerce in D7 (with the other github port) or 2) be re-named and split into Virtual Merchant for Ubercart and Virtual Merchant for Commerce.
