What's the problem with copying over the whole original text with HTML and all and translating only the text parts?

I tested this with a local copy both with Firefox 2 and Safari, and all worked fine. What browser are you trying to use?

No feedback, so it surely works for you now. Reopen if you have more information. Otherwise I can only assume it works for you now. It worked for me in whatever browser I tried, I even checked in Internet Explorer 6.
