Discussions and Blog Post also Status

I had an experience with commons 2.0 that used drupal 6 , but now i have started working with drupal 7 commons 3.0 ! Discussions and Blog Post are missing ! how can i have them back in 3.0 , adding a new content type of the type discussion, blog post will bring the creating and listing of these new content types in activity stream ?

i mean if i add a new content types for these two , will they automatically included in activity stream ?

Also adding statuses is missing in 3.0 to the activity stream ! is there a way to bring back this ? i tried with statuses module but it has its own activity stream !
