In order to make my Drupal 7 site multilingual I had enabled the Localization update, and after that, when I clicked on my Configuration menu button, it started to load endlessly, and eventually, the following error has occured: Only local images are allowed.

It crashes the Configuration menu totally.
Please help.

I had the same problem. Sometimes it appeared error 500, WSOD or too much time... differents errors. also rebuild permissions admin/reports/status/rebuild timed out
I deactivated this module and configuration and rebuild option worked again.

There is a problem with your Internet connection. If you are running Drupal behind proxy server, look https://drupal.org/node/1863544 and look up $conf['proxy_server'] in your settings.php.

Most of the errors like these are caused by a combination of slow server and/or slow internet connection. There are open issue to work on the module performance, but that's all we can do.
