We have a multisite install which uses several ImageCache presets and on our latest site they have stopped creating the thumbnails as expected. If I create a new preset I can see the preview imagecache_sample.png image but as soon as I apply a scale and crop, for example, the link is broken and the image is deleted from the sites/sitename.com/files/imagecache/preset_name_folder directory.

Disregard -- looks like the client accidentally disabled GD2....goes to show, never overlook the simple option.

How was this resolved? I have the exact same symptoms and have GD2 enabled. Everything in default/files have been change to 777 permissions. htaccess for both root and default/files have been verified. This happened after moving site (tgz) to new server.
