I would like to edit the image assist module so that:
1) it can link directly to an image (and not the image page)
2) add rel="lightbox" in the link
Anyone who can help me with this?
Thanks!

lightbox2 module
You know, there's a lightbox2 module that does exactly that. It adds support to lightbox2 for the Image, Inline, Image Assist and CCK Imagefield modules.
It doesn't seem to work for
It doesn't seem to work for me. What type of link do i have to select inside image assist when adding an image?
Anyone Find a Solution??
I'm trying to use Image Assist with FCKeditor. Insert inline images into text areas. When users click on images the lightbox should kick in..I've tried many configurations...has anyone figured with out??

Same problem here
Cannot find the configuration for the lightbox to be used for image assist URLs.
Right now inline images are showing OK with the right image size (the image assist input filter is set up and working)
If I set the inline image to link to the image node page, and enable the lightbox's automatic handling for image nodes option, it works and the image node opens in the lighbox.
However, if I set the lightbox's image assit url automatic handling, I don't really know how to make it work. Even the links in the image node page to different sizes do not open in a new window.
How is that automatic handler supposed to work?
Same Here Too
Cant get Automatic Handling to recognize any img files.
Check your image sizes!
I had mine working. YEHEY!
It was a very, very long winding road before I found out what made it not to work, which makes sense if you get it. =0)
Here's some points to consider:
1. Be sure that the image you uploaded is less than the thumbnail size (if you're going to use thumbnail as your trigger in lightbox's image node settings) you set in the image module > files and sizes tab.
2. When you add the image to your node (e.g. as inline) be sure that the size is set as thumbnail as this defaults to "original". Then the rest with be: "link to image node" for Link field and Insert mode as either HTML or Filter Tag.
I hope this works for you, drupaliens (for that alien head up there) or drupalians.
Whoa, whoa, whoa... Slow down a bit!
Could you explain how to do this in greater detail? I'm trying to create pages (as admin) that has inline images that users can click on for lightbox effect. I have "Image" and "Lightbox2" modules installed and enabled. Now, what's the next step?
Thanks!
That is what happens when you
Explain a very long road's travel in less than five seconds. You end up with a fast overview that's worthless because nobody but those who already know can understand it.
That this fellow doesn't even deign to reply or explain further is no surpise.
