Hi,

I created 3 steps:

In step 1 is a required field

In step 2 is no field required. There is the title field, but it is not required since I use the auto_nodetitle module.

In step 3 is a required field.

The bug: I'm able to safe in step 2 without finishing step 3

Thanks for the report (and sorry for the late reply).
I've committed a small change which fixes this bug (at least in my test). Please test the latest development version (available soon) or use the code from git and test if it works now.
