Description

hi
I have conference installed in a drupal install that uses a common codebase (same code, same database, different site). My config seems to be solid...there are a couple of gliches (I can't seem to do the test for clean urls and theme previews don't show...just the backup code). My problem is that the %download variable doesn't produce a link in the emails sent and when I login as a reviewer I can't view the submissions.

suggestions?

I confirm the same experience. We only have plain abstract submissions, no attachments. While the conference manager can access the submitted paper via the conference manage site, reviewers cannot.

I am willing to sponsor this bug to get fixed, either in favour to the programmer or to the Drupal association.

I had this question/problem also.

It appears that the %download variable only works if you have an uploaded attachment; the system doesn't allow reviewers to actually view submissions posted via Drupal alone. It seems like it should be fairly simple to send the url for the submission if there's no attachment (but alas, I am just someone who wants to *use* Drupal and the conference module, I'm not a programmer).

I'm not sure about the problem (neither am I sure you have the same problem...):

* can't you add attachments ? of course this is a (general) drupal setting required to be enabled for this to work

* Indeed, the %download concerns only files, but this is not a bug AFAICS (since there's nothing to download otherwise).
The reviewer should see a link to the article in the "my reviews" tab ; but indeed one could provide the possibility of assing a direct link in the e-mail in case there's no file. (But it depends on the settings related to anonymity of the submitter. it may be inteded that the referee can only access to a downloaded file, but not to the associated web page with author's names.)

Unfortunately I'm (a) extremely overloaded with other work and (b) somehow "out of focus" concerning this module and (c) currently without a drupal site having conf.mod installed.

So maybe could you post more precise information ?
(your settings related to attachments ; copy-paste of example "offending" e-mail ; etc.)

Alternatiively, if you have (very) concrete suggestions about where and what additional options should be added (conf.management screens), I might be able to bring them into the code without
recalling the whole context of the module's settings and variables etc., and at the same time (hopefully) without breaking everything,

Thanks.

In my case, we have a conference set up, which simply does not want any file to be uploaded (it would be possible on the admin´s fingertip). I´m aware this would solve the problem, but as soon as you are not dealing with technical conferences, you immediately have all the problems with uploading Word/OpenOffice/PDF-files and silly professors who don´t know nothing but that the technics does not work. Hence, we do require the submitters to text their 250-word-abstracts directly into the drupal system (with tinymce).
Would it help to deal with the very installation? Would be possible privately.
